This nine day private safari opens away from the standard circuit, at Lake Baringo and Lake Bogoria in the northern Rift Valley. Bogoria is a hot spring lake where geysers and steam vents line the shore and enormous flocks of lesser flamingo gather on the shallows, a landscape that feels nothing like the rest of the itinerary and one that most visitors to Kenya never see.
From there the route moves through Lake Nakuru’s rhino sanctuary, over the Mau Escarpment for three nights and two complete days in the Masai Mara, then to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate before finishing with two nights in Amboseli beneath Kilimanjaro. It is an unusually well balanced itinerary, with real depth in the Mara rather than a single rushed day. Park entrance fees, accommodation, all meals on safari, mineral water and transfers are included.
