This 7 Day Big Jumbos and Beach Adventure Holiday splits the week between Kenya’s most famous elephant country and the white sand of the south coast, which is why it works so well for families. The first half is spent in Amboseli National Park, where large elephant herds move across the swamp grounds and Mount Kilimanjaro rises behind them on clear mornings.
You then connect by train from Emali down to Mombasa and on to Diani, swapping game drives for snorkelling and diving over the coral gardens of the Diani-Chale Marine National Reserve and Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park, a traditional dhow cruise towards Wasini Island with a seafood lunch and a good chance of dolphins, and a final day at leisure on the beach.
