The Nairobi Safari Walk is a raised wooden boardwalk winding through recreated Kenyan habitats at the main gate of Nairobi National Park. Because you are on foot and slightly above ground level, you get eye level views of animals that would normally be distant specks from a vehicle, which makes it particularly good with children and with anyone who wants photographs without a long lens.
The walk passes through wetland, savannah and forest sections holding white rhino, pygmy hippo, albino zebra, bongo, cheetah, leopard and a large aviary, with informative signage throughout explaining Kenya’s ecosystems and conservation work. It takes around two hours at a relaxed pace and pairs naturally with the Animal Orphanage next door. Entrance fees, hotel transfers, mineral water and a guide are included.
